What can I see and do on the Hand-in page?

        Article summary

View up-to-date information about the status of homework completion

Here you can see who has finished their work ahead of schedule and also any students who have not done their homework before the due date. You can view hand-in information for any class by selecting a class under 'All classes' on the left-hand side of the page.

        Activity

Using this column, you can access the activity timeline for a student. Here you will see detailed information about the reading a student has done during the homework. For more information about this page and how to get the most out of it, see our article on what you can see and do on the answer history timeline

        Completion progress bar

Use this information to quickly gauge which students have completed their Sparx Reader Point (SRP) requirement for that week. You will also be able to view a percentage of the homework completion on the right-hand side of the bar, as well as how much SRP they have earnt out of the allocated amount.

        Accuracy

The Accuracy column allows you to view how well students have answered the questions within Sparx Reader on the first attempt. These are rated as Excellent, Good, Okay, Low and Very Low. You can hover over the rating to see the percentage of questions they got right on the first attempt.

        Books read

You are also able to see the books that the students read to complete their homework. If you click on the row, you will get taken to the answer history timeline, and at the top there is a books number. Clicking on show books will show a more detailed view of their reading history for that homework:

Why are the accuracy rating and book missing?

If a student has completed some reading towards their goal, but no accuracy or book information is shown on the Hand-In page, this means that the student did not complete any reading while that homework was active (between the set date and due date), and has since back-filled their completion by doing extra reading in a later week.

        Previous homework

Within the hand-in page, you are also able to keep track of how students have done with their previous homeworks. You are able to go into any of these previous weeks by clicking on the tick or percentage listed in the column.

What happens when students move class?

Each week on the hand in page will be a representation of the students that were in the class at the time. If a student moves class during a week, they will show in any week where they were set homework, and from then on, will show on the hand in page for the new class, starting with the first week they are set homework for the new class.

This video shows how you can use the hand-in page to support students to read regularly.
