When a student answers a question, they are given a timer for how long they have to answer the question. There are a few reasons that timers exist for questions in Sparx Reader, including:
- To ensure students are actively engaged with their reading.
- To minimise the likelihood of them cheating.
- To minimise the likelihood of having time to skim the text and not carefully reading.
There are two different question types that have different timers:
- Multiple choice style questions have a timer of 50 seconds
- Find the sentence style questions have a timer of 120 seconds
This timer is fixed and does not change based on level, and cannot be adjusted for an individual student.
