Changing a student's Sparx Reading Level

Changing a student's Sparx Reading Level

        Article summary

There may be occasions where you feel that the automatic level assigned to a student is not suitable. For example, if a student has been receiving help at home Sparx may think they are a stronger reader than they are.

If you think a student's reading level is too high or too low, you can manually override their Sparx Reading Level.

        1. Go to More > Student Manager on the left of the screen
        2. Choose the student's class from the options on the left of the screen
        3. Edit a specific student by clicking the pencil icon next to their name
        4. Under Sparx Reader Details, select a level
        5. Click Save on the bottom right

Please note: Manually lowering a students level will result in books being automatically swapped out if they are considered too difficult for the student.

The video below shows how to do this.

        Note:
If you override a student's level it will remain at this level until you make further changes or the student is set back to Automatic.
